I love Stampin Up Wheels. Some of them have great designs and can be used as a border on your card or scrapbook page but I don’t like to “Wheel”. It always makes such a mess and sometimes you miss parts of it with the ink or you wheel crooked and it ruins your entire project. This is how my wheel lines come out sometimes:
Therefore, I decided to convert my Wheels to Clear Mounted Stamps. All you need is a sharp knife and Stampin Up’s Clear Mount Cling Foam.
The first thing you do it find the seam where the two pieces of rubber meet and cut that seam with an X-Acto Knife.
Cut your wheel at the seam
Then you pull up one corner of the rubber and peel it off the plastic wheel.
Lift up the corner and peel off.
Then just pull the rubber off the plastic wheel. It comes off very easily.
Pull the rubber off the wheel
After you pull the rubber off the wheel there might be some old glue left on it. Sometimes this glue will stick to the plastic part but sometimes it stays on the wheel. It peels off very easily.
Peel off the old glue
Now just peel back the side of the Clear Mount Cling Foam that has the glue (the other side is not sticky and is used to adhere the stamp to a clear block). Place the rubber on the Clear Mount Foam and cut around it.
Cut around the rubber on the Foam
Now you are done! You now have a Clear Mount Rubber Stamp instead of a wheel.
The best part is they fit inside one of the Clear Mount Stamp Cases.
