Birthday Cards From Friends

My birthday was a week or so ago and a few of my friends made me some awesome birthday cards.  Before I became a Stampin Up Demonstrator I was not much into cards.  I sent Christmas and Valentines cards and a Sympathy Card once in a while but I was not big on birthday cards.  Now I realize how nice it is to get a card in the mail – especially a homemade one.  Not only does it mean they remembered my birthday but they also took the time to make me a card.  It is just wonderful!

Here is a card Char made for me (she also made me an awesome Chocolate Zucchini Cake):

Here is Debby’s card (love the colors!):

Last but not least, here is Sandy’s Flip Card (love those flip cards!):

Happy Birthday to me!  🙂

Freshly Made Sketches

This is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.  I have forgotten how much I like Stampin Up’s Regals.  They are perfect for fall cards.  For this card I used the stamp set called Wonderfall for the leaves.  It has a matching Big Shot Die called Bigz Autumn Accents.  The trick with these together is you have to cut out the leaves first and then stamp them.  It is pretty easy to line up.  The sentiment is from the Hostess Set called Express Yourself.  I made the button using the Simply Pressed Clay and the matching Buttons and Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds.  The clay is white so after I made the button, I just used a Crushed Curry Marker to color it.

Tag A Bag Accessory Kit

On pages 158 – 159 of the Stampin Up! Annual Catalog they are featuring the Tag A Bag System.  It includes bags, boxes and, of course, tags.  In a previous post, I showed you the box I made from the Make ‘N Take at the Stampin Up! Convention (Click HERE is see this post).  These kits are perfect for gift giving but the Tag A Bag Accessory Kit can also be used to make cards.  It comes with 10 large tags, 10 medium builder tags, mini clothespins, Bakers Twine (in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay & Tangerine Tango), Adhesive strips (which I used to make the diagonals on the card above) all for just $7.95.  Of course, if you Bundle it with the bags or Bundle it with the boxes you can save money!

Chalk Talk Modern Medley

This was a quick and easy card to make when you are short on time.  I used the Designer Series Paper called Modern Medley.  Every sheet is Basic Black and Very Vanilla and it has mosaics, newsprint, musical notes, stripes and polka dots.  The 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon is from the Holiday Catalog and is so nice to work with.  It is Cherry Cobbler and has a little white trim on both sides.  Although It is grosgrain it feels softer so is easy to tie in a knot.  The stamp set is called Chalk Talk (you probably already know that since I used it quite often!) and has matching Framelits (save 15% by buying the Bundle!)

A Simple One Layer Card

One Layer Card

I know I have talked about this before, but sometimes you just need a card and you don’t have a lot of time to mess around with it.  I love one layer cards.  They are CAS (Clean and Simple) but can be so pretty.  It literally took about 3 minutes to make this card.  It took me longer to find the stamp sets I wanted to use then to actually stamp it.  The sets I used were Flower Shop and it’s matching punch called Pansy Punch (save 15% and buy the Bundle), Summer Silhouettes for the trellis and a Hostess Set called Express Yourself.  This set has 12 different stamps in a beautiful font.  You can own this set but having a party with qualifying sales!  If you are interested, just send me an email or give me a call!

Gift Bow Bigz L Die

Here is a video showing you how to make a bow using the Gift Bow Bigz L Die!  What an easy way to make a bow for all your Christmas gifts!
