Happy Hour Cheers!

Happy HourIt is funny how I go through color cycles.  In the past I was the biggest fan of the Subtles Collection.  Everything I made had either Baja Breeze (retired) or Bashful Blue (also retired) on it. Then my favorite became the Regals Collection.  That could have been during the Fall because Regals are Fall-like colors.  Now my favorite color collection is the Brights.  Bermuda Bay is my favorite color of them all and I love the way it looks with Daffodil Delight.  Perhaps it is because these bright colors look so nice with CAS (Clean and Simple) cards.

I was so excited to see the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that comes out on June 2nd.  Originally it was in the Holiday Catalog last year and then we were told it was retired so I “assumed” it was gone forever.  I am so glad it is back (or will be on June 2nd!).

I made this card using the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and strips of cardstock.  The colors are Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and the new In Color called Tangelo Twist.  The “Cheers” is from the stamp set called Happy Hour and is back by a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper cut out using the Layered Labels Framelits.

Fun With Graduation Invites

Graduation InvitationsMy niece called me the other day and asked if I would help her make graduation invitations for her upcoming high school graduation.  Of course, I said yes!  Now, I realized that these invitations are mostly made from retired products.  I can’t help that her high school colors are not available in current product but I was able to use retired Stampin’ Up! products.  The green is called Gorgeous Green and the yellow is Summer Sun.  These colors matched perfectly.  The stars are from an old Big Shot Die called Stars.

This is what the invitation looks like when pulled up:

DSC02168I used My Digital Studio to make the actual invitation part.  I love My Digital Studio for this reason.

Congratulations Morgan!  We are very proud of you!

Another Work Of Art

Work Of ArtHere is another sample using the new Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Work of Art that is coming out in the 2014/2015 Annual Catalog that begins June 2nd.   I love the saying it comes with.  My father used to always says to my sisters and I “You are a piece of work”.  Now (if he were alive) I could say “I know!  I am a fabulous work of art!”

I inked the chevron stamp using my markers in Soft Sky, Coastal Cabana and Island Indigo twice.  I cut out a piece of Whisper White card stock with the Starburst Framelits and mounted it on a piece of Island  Indigo that I had cut out using the Circles Collection Framelits.  Then I punched out the butterfly using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and the mounted it with Stampin Dimensionals.

Starburst Sayings Washi Tape Card

Starburst Sayings, Washi TapeMay is such a sad but exciting month in the world of Stampin’ Up!.  There is the excitement of the new Annual Catalog coming on June 2nd but at the same time it is the month where we find out what is going to retired.  Then, to top it all off, it is the last month for the Occasions Catalog!  Sometimes it is hard to keep track of it all!

This card has some product in the Occasions Catalog, some in the Annual Catalog and some that is going to retire and be gone for good.  I used the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape for the background.  This Washi Tape is going to retire and is available while supplies last.  One of the stamp sets I used is called Starburst Sayings has matching Starburst Framelits and is in the Occasions Catalog.  The good news is that it is going to be carried over to the new Annual Catalog.  The bad news is right now you can buy it in a Bundle and save 15% but once the Occasions Catalog retires on June 1st that special Bundle pricing will be gone.

Hexagon Hive Petals

Hexagon Hive, Petite Petals, Circle MonogramToday is my Mother In Law’s birthday.  She is 86 years old and is as spry as can be at that age.  I wanted to send her a bright birthday card to brighten her day so I though a nice Basic Black and Very Vanilla card with a pop of color (Strawberry Slush) would work.  The Designer Series Paper I used is called Modern Medley and is retiring at the end of this month.

If you look at the sentiment and try to find it in the catalog you won’t be able to.  That is because it is a Photopolymer Circle Monogram Stamp that I designed.  It is so easy to do.  You just put in the item number and another window pops up where you write whatever you want your stamp to say.  I love it.  This is not carrying over into the next catalog.  It is not in this catalog so I am not sure of the fate of it yet.  If you like it, I would order it before June 1st just in case it is no longer available then.

I also used Hexagon Hive for the background and Petite Petals for the flowers.

Happy Birthday Dorothy!

Goodbye Oh, Hello!

Oh HelloOh, Hello is another Stampin’ Up! stamp set that is going to retire at the end of this month.  The great thing about this set was it came out the same time as the Ovals Collections Framelits so they matched perfectly.  It was also one of the first sets that came out that had the chevron design that is so popular right now.  If you like this set you need to order it before June 1st when it will be gone forever.

I paired this stamp set with a sneak peek of Designer Series Paper called Moonlight that will be in the new catalog beginning June 2nd.  I really like this new paper because it uses the new 2014/2015 In Colors that are coming out.  The particular paper I used has Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey in it.  The ribbon is also a new In Color (Blackberry Bliss).  You are going to love the new ribbon.  It ties very easily and looks very rich.
