2015 Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference

image

I had a great time at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando this week.  Of course,  the best part is meeting new old friends.   This year I spent a lot of time with Buffy,  my BFF.   I also got to meet Deborah,  who was a lot of fun to hang out with.

One really nice thing about Stampin’ Up! Is that the employees are super friendly.  Even though we have never met and they have no clue who we are,  they always act like you are a long lost friend and they spend a lot of time in the crowds just mingling and talking with all the Demos.   Here is a picture of Buffy and I with Bonnie Farley.

Here is another picture of Buffy with Spencer.  Buffy wouldn’t let me be in the picture with them!

All in all it was a great time.  More tomorrow!

Simple Valentine

Sweetheart Punch, Stacked With Love, Sheltering Tree

Sometimes simple is better.  As you all know, I have three boys (grown men).  If I made them a Valentine with lace, flowers and other stuff all over it, they would look at me cross eyed, say “thanks” and then throw it in the recycle bin (or garbage can).  Of course, if I didn’t give them a Valentine, they would be unhappy because it is a tradition.  I have given them Valentines practically since the day they were born.  They might tell you, they really want the candy and gifts that go with the Valentines card but I know they really like the card the best (that is my story and I am sticking with it!).

To make this Valentine, I just punched out some hearts using the Sweetheart Punch from Designer Series Paper called Stacked With Love.  This paper is black and white on one side and Calypso Coral, Real Red or Crisp Cantaloupe on other.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Sheltering Tree.

Right now I am in Orlando, Florida at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference.  Every year (well almost every year) Stampin’ Up! gives all the attendees a bag of some kind.  Imagine 3,000 demonstrators all carrying the same bag!  I decided to make some bag tags for Buffy, Deborah and myself in order to help differentiate our bags from the other 3,000.

I used some old coasters I had and cut them to 2.25″ x 4″.  Then I covered both sides of the coaster with a piece of Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper.  I cut out the letters using the Little Letters Thinlits Dies.  Then I added a button and a bow made of Baker’s Twine.  I think they came out pretty cute!

Rob and I are off to the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando Florida today!   Well, Rob won’t be coming to the conference, although he could have, but I think he would rather sit by the pool and enjoy the sunshine and warmth.   Not only am I going to  gather with 3,000 Demonstrators from around the world, I am also going to meet up with Buffy, my stampin’ BFF.  She and her husband Mike will be driving down to meet us there.  I will try to post some pictures and updates from the Conference if the wifi and my iPad cooperate.  In the meantime, I have scheduled some posts to keep you all occupied while I am gone.  See you in a few days!

Painted Petals & Lotus Blossom

Painted Petals, Lotus Blossom

If you know anything about me by now, you know that I love flower stamps.  I thought the new stamp set called Painted Petals and the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Lotus Blossom could go well together so I decided to make a card using both.  The Painted Petals stamp set is in the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  The best thing about this set is you can get it in your choice of wood mount, clear mount or Photopolymer!   I love that Stampin’ Up! is offering some of their sets in all three choices.  You can get the Lotus Blossom stamp set for Free with a $50 order.  Remember, Stampin’ Up! will not offer any of the products in the Sale-a-bration catalog for sale so now is your only chance to obtain it ~ Free!

Mini Treat Bags Thinlits

Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Chevron Border Punch

One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! Thinlits is that they often have a lot of different shapes included with each set.  For example, The “for you” in this card was actually cut out with a Thinlit that is included in the Mini Treat Bags Thinlits Die set.  This set also has the word “enjoy” included with it as well as a banner, a die that looks like Washi Tape, a bow and a bunch of others.  So you can mix and match all the dies to make great projects.
