One Big Thanks

One Big Meaning, Flower Patch

Stampin’ Up! came just out with a heavy weight cardstock that is wonderful. It is sturdier than their regular Whisper White cardstock so it is perfect to use for a card base.  I used it to make this card.  If you are looking for it in the catalog, it is on page 149.

To make the triangle I found the exact center of the card and made a little tick mark with a pencil.  Then I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut from the tick mark to each corner.  I took a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and adhered it to the triangle.  It did not take very long at all.

The Flowers are from the Stamp Set called Flower Patch.  The sentiment is from a new stamp set called One Big Meaning.  This set has seven different stamps in it and comes in wood mount or clear mount.

Buffy’s Thank You

Butterflies Thinlits

As most of you know, I have a twin sister, Buffy, who lives in Virginia.  We are not really twins, at least not in this lifetime but I wouldn’t be surprised if we were in the past.  She thinks like me.  She has a weird sense of humor like me, snarks like I do and she is a great listener!  Sometimes it is a little scary.

A friend of mine who lives in Sackets Harbor now roasts her own coffee.  I don’t drink coffee but everyone I know who loves coffee loves Kelly’s Sackets Harbor Roasted Coffee.  Buffy is an avid coffee drinker.  As a matter of fact, there was this one incident…oh wait, what happened in Orlando, stays in Orlando.  In any case, I sent Buffy some Sackets Harbor Coffee.  She sent me this beautiful thank you card in return.  I think she did a whole bunch of splatters and ink blobs for the background and then cut the butterfly out using the Butterflies Thinlits.  Isn’t it gorgeous??  I probably should sent a thank you card for the thank you card (my mother in law actually did that once!).

This is Madelyn’s parents and sister.  The hairy one is the sister in case anyone is confused.  They are a beautiful family.

Sprinkles Of Life & No Contact

Sheltering Tree

I just wanted to thank the person who ordered from me through my web site who chose “No Contact”.  No contact means I have no way of knowing who ordered so I can’t thank them.  No contact is the default when ordering online from Stampin’ Up! so sometimes I wonder if the person (or people) who order this way know they are doing this.  In any case, thank you for your order!

We made this card at our July Club meeting and I forgot to post it!  I guess it is better late than never.  We used the Ronald McDonald Charity House stamp set called Sprinkles Of Life.  Whenever someone purchases this set, Stampin’ Up! gives a $3.00 donation to the RMCH.  Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has given away hundreds of thousands of dollars (I don’t know the exact amount).  It is a wonderful charity to support.  The stamp set is cute too! It is a Photopolymer stamp set that includes 22 stamps in all.  You can find this stamp set on the back inside cover of the Annual Catalog.  The best part (other than it supports a great charity) is it has a matching punch called Tree Builder Punch that punches out the tree, a bird, an apple, a flower and a rain drop.

Wild About Flowers

Wild About Flowers

One of the many things I love about the stamp set called Wild About Flowers is the sentiment I used on this card.  I think it is such a sweet sentiment.  It can be used inside the card as well as outside.  You can use it for graduations, weddings, retirements, anniversaries and birthdays.  Really it can be used any time you wish someone well.  It is so much nicer than just saying “congratulations” or something like that.

This sentiment is what I wish for Madelyn.  She has a whole life ahead of her and I want nothing but the best for her.  Here she is with Grandpa.  He must be telling her a fascinating story!

Another Watercooler Challenge

It is that time again for another Watercooler Challenge.  This time the challenge was given to us by Bev and it is a Fun Fold Challenge.  Fun Folds are always so much fun to make and the people who get them are usually pleasantly surprised!

Here is my entry for this challenge.

Fun Fold, KInda Eclectic

DSC02807 Fun Fold, Kinda Eclectic

When you first look at the card, it just looks normal but then you open it and see that it is not at all.  The cardstock is a 8.5″ square.  Then you score it in half one way and then turn it 90 degrees and score it in half again.  Then you score it corner to corner both ways and fold. Your cardstock should look like this:

Fund Fold-001

I used the stamp set called Kinda Eclectic.  The colors are Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe and Wild Wasbi.  The ribbon is the 1″ Dotted Lace Trim in Tip Top Taupe.

To see the other creations made by the Watercooler Artists you can click HERE.  Then make a fun fold card and link it to that web site to see if you can be this week’s challenge winner!

Masculine Birthday Card

Guy Greetings, World Map

The stamp set called Guy Greetings is a great set to use for a masculine card.  I guess that is why they named it Guy Greetings!  It is a big set too.  It has 22 stamps in it!  A lot of them are sentiment stamps too, which is always needed.

I stamped the background stamp called World Map in Night of Navy and then used Cherry Cobbler for the rest.  The background is Marina Mist.  It was pretty easy to cut out the shoes since they have a smooth edge (you know I am not a fan of fussy cutting).  The banners were made using the Banner Triple Punch which makes it so easy!  I love that punch!

Celebrate With Zoo Babies

Zoo Babies, Banner Triple Punch

Last weekend I got to spend it with Madelyn.  I hadn’t seen her for a few weeks and it amazed me how much she has grown already!  The nice thing about this weekend was both Great Grandmothers got to meet her for the first time!  We took a punch of cute pictures (one of which is below).

I made this card using the stamp set called Zoo Babies.  It is such a cute set.  Of course, I bought it for Madelyn when she get old enough to stamp with me.  I figure she will be ready in about six months or so.  The background is a new Background stamp called It’s Wild.  Have you looked at all the new background stamps that are offered by Stampin’ Up! yet?  There are some awesome ones!

Here is Madelyn with my mother.  She is 90 years old and has more energy than me!
