Wow. It is hard to believe how quickly 2015 went. What a year it was! Madelyn, my first grand child was born! There is nothing better than being a grandparent. It is just awesome!
I know I have used this stamp set called Your Presents a lot lately but I can’t help myself. I love it. It is just one of those sets that can used for years to come. It is not trendy and will never go out of style. It retires on January 5th and I want to remind everyone that if they want it, they need to order it before it is gone forever.
The happy birthday sentiment is a Hostess Set from the 2015 Annual Catalog. It can only be purchased with a qualifying order of $150 or more. It can be one person’s order or a group order as long as the order reaches that amount.
I love it when Stampin’ Up! has words that can be cut out using our Big Shot. I especially love it when the words are in an elegant font such as the word “grateful” on this card. The Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies actually have four words that can be cut out. They are grateful, falala, snow and spooky and they are all in that same fabulous font. Unfortunately, they are retiring on January 5th when the 2015 Holiday Catalog expires. That makes me sad. If you like these words, then you need to buy them before that date because once they are retired, they aren’t coming back!
Here is another card I made using the Acorny Thank You Bundle. It is in the 2015 Annual Catalog and I am very excited that it is being carried over and not retiring. It is a great set because it has a matching punch called the Acorn Builder Punch. Plus the set of Framelits called Bitty Banners fits the “Thankful” stamp that is in this set.
If you are wondering why I like acorns so much, I really don’t have a choice. Below is a picture of what my driveway looks like. Our oak trees when crazy this year and produced more acorns than we have ever seen. Even the squirrels aren’t eating them because there are just too many! All those little brown dots are acorns. There are thousands of them all over the driveway and lawn. I wonder if an acorn pie or stew might be good.
One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! stamp sets is that most of them are very versatile because you can use them for different occasions at different times of the year. This set stamp is called Your Presents and is in the 2015 Holiday Catalog. Obviously this meant this set would be great to use at Christmas time. As you can see, you can also use it any time of the year because it makes a great birthday card too. This is one of the stamp sets that is retiring on January 4th so if you like it, you will need to order it before that date or it will be gone forever (except, of course, on eBay where you will pay double for it!)
This picture does not show the new product I am trying to give you a sneak peek of. If you look at the two solid presents, you can see some sparkle. Stampin’ Up! is going to be selling Wink Of Stella! It is a great way to add some sparkle without the glop and mess of Dazzling Details. It comes as a brush and dries really quickly. You are going to love it! Look for it in the 2016 Occasions Catalog that comes out on January 5th!
This is the Christmas card I made this year to send out to family and friends. I used the stamp set called Winter Wishes. It is in the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. It was one of my favorite sets in that catalog and I am sad that Stampin’ Up! is retiring it on January 5th. It is such a cute set. It has a sled (as you can see!), skates, skis, pine cones and the pine branch. I used the Hardwood background stamp on Crumb Cake cardstock with Crumb Cake Ink. I did stamp it off once to make it a little lighter. Stamping off is when you ink a stamp and then stamp it on a piece of scrap paper before stamping it on your cardstock. The sentiment is from the Hostess Set that was also in the catalog called Antique Tags. I thought it went so well with this antique looking stamp set. The rest of the products I used are listed below but many of them are also retiring on January 5th.
I am not sure if Madelyn isn’t too sure about Santa or the outfits her parents dress her in!
This is the last Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for 2015. It is brought to us by Heidi. She decided to do a “Anything Goes” challenge this week. The only requirement is, your creation must have snow on it.
Here is the card I made for this challenge:
I used some products from the Holiday Catalog. The window is from Hearth & Home Thinlits. I love this window and I am so happy it is being carried over after the catalog ends on January 3rd. Unfortunately, most of the other products I used are retiring and that makes me sad. The Sleigh Ride Edgelits and the stamp set called Happy Scenes (the trees) are also retiring. The good thing is, Stampin’ Up! has made another stamp set that will go with the Hearth & Home Thinlits for the Occasions Catalog!
To make it look like it is snowing outside the window, I embossed a piece of vellum with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
I wanted to write a quick note that I will not be one of the Watercooler Wednesday Artists after this. I’ve taken a new path in my job and I think it will be hard to keep up with everything for a bit. I wish all the other artists the best and thank them for allowing me to be a part of their group.
Now check out what the other Watercooler Artists have made for this challenge HERE.
