Yesterday was my sister Emily’s birthday. I don’t usually post on Sundays so I am posting a Happy Birthday message to her today. This is not the card I sent her because I actually forgot to take a picture of the card I did send. In any case, Emily is an amazing woman. She is kind, thoughtful and dedicated. She does a lot of things for other people.
I made this card using the Seasonal Decorative Masks for the background. You can either use a sponge dauber or a regular sponge to do this. I used Pool Party Ink on top of the Pool Party cardstock. The medallion is from a set of Framelits called Merry Tags. Merry Tags does have a matching stamp set called Merry Wishes and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. The sentiment is from Birthday Banners which also has a matching set of Framelits called Bunch of Banners.
Happy Birthday, Emily. I hope your day yesterday was awesome!
Once again, here is another episode of a Stamp Off Challenge by BS & J Productions. I love Fridays! Today’s challenge is a Halloween theme.
For my card I used the stamp set called Spooky Fun. It has a set of matching Edgelit Dies called Halloween Scenes. You can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle!
I have to admit, I am not a big fan of Halloween. I had three boys and it was so hectic on Halloween. I always took the day off from work to go to school to help them get into their costumes. There would be a big parade, which was actually cute, where all the elementary kids went up to the high school floors in costume. After that, we all went back to their classroom for a Halloween party that was filled with candy, cupcakes, sugary drinks and other junk. By the time the kids left school they were on a huge sugar high. Then we would have to go back home and fix any issues with their costumes before talking them out trick or treating. It would be raining or worse, snowing, and no kid wants to wear a coat to cover their costume. The good part is we were very strict about eating the candy. The bad part is when they came off the sugar high from school, they collapsed and got cranky. I know. Bah Humbug to Halloween!
On a good note, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy did for their Trick or Treat!
This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is one of the cutest I have seen so far. It makes shaker cards which are always fun. Watch this video to see how easy and cute these cards are.
On a side note, last weekend we went to visit Madelyn. What a difference two months make! I am going to have start visiting her monthly. She is brilliant! She is saying words by imitating people. She knows all her animals noises and she eats like a horse. I don’t think I have smiled that much in one weekend ever! Here is a picture of her when we went to pick out pumpkins. I thought it was perfect when talking about Paper Pumpkin!
Here is a quick and easy birthday card for when you are in a hurry. The whole card only took a couple of minutes. Life gets busy but you still need to acknowledge someone’s birthday so quick and easy is good!
I used the stamp set called Birthday Fiesta. It is in the 2016 Annual Catalog has a set of matching Framelits called Fiesta Time, although I didn’t use them for this card. If you purchase both you can save 10% on the Bundle. The Designer Series Paper is called Festive Birthday. That is one thing (among many things) that is awesome about Stampin’ Up! products. Everything coordinates with each other.
This is another card we did at our monthly club meeting. It uses the stamp set that is in the 2016 Holiday Catalog.called Christmas Pines. This set has a matching set of Thinlits called Pretty Pines. You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.
First we stamped the full set of pine boughs in Garden Green and then the partial set in Pear Pizzazz. The pine cones’ backgrounds are stamped in Crumb Cake and then the detail in Early Espresso. There is a die that cut them out perfectly. Also the bow is a die which we cut out Cherry Cobbler cardstock with. The “Noel” is stamped in Cherry Cobbler also.
I don’t know how it goes from 75 degrees one day to 50 degrees the next. Here I was enjoying this wonderful Fall weather where the days are in the 70’s and the nights are in the 50’s. It is my favorite weather. Then what happens? I wake up one morning and it is 29 degrees outside. Why ca’t the weather just cool off gradually? It should slowly get colder. Oh wait! I know why! It is because I live in Northern New York and things are just not done that way! All I can say is “three more years”!
I made this card using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. They are perfect for making a quick and easy card because they have a few shapes and some words so you basically have to just cut them out and stick them on the card. I added the “Hello” using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set. It is a great set because you can stamp any sentiment you want. The Embossing Folder I used is called Petal Burst and is a new one in the Annual Catalog.
Am I the only one who thinks Fridays come pretty quickly lately? It just seems like it was last Friday a couple of days ago. That is a good thing in some ways because Friday is the day Buffy, Jackie and I have our Stamp Off Challenges!
Today’s challenge is a Take It Or Leave It Challenge. This is where we are given a few items to use and we can use them or not. In other words, it is pretty much a do whatever you want challenge!
For once, I actually used everything on the list! I know. Don’t fall over in shock. I am getting better at following directions!
I used the stamp set called Wondrous Wreath. It is an older stamp set that is in the Annual Catalog but it is still a favorite. This stamp set has a matching set of Framelits called Wonderful Wreath. The banner is a stamp from a Hostess Set called Time of Year. I used the new Real Red Glitter Stampin Emboss Powder. It works just like regular embossing powder only it is sparkly. I know it is hard to see in the picture but it really is sparkly! It also comes in Emerald Envy. The Baker’s Twine also has a sparkly red thread running through it so they went well together.
Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made for this challenge. I am sure we will all be delighted!
