A Color Stamp Off Challenge

I love Fridays because it is the day I have our Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie and Buffy.  This week we have a Color Challenge.

I think these are great colors.  They are bright and happy and look really well together.  Sadly one of these colors, Cucumber Crush is going to retire on May 31st.  Here is my card:

I used the stamp set called Jar Of Love to stamp the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from One Big Meaning.  If you look at this set you won’t find this particular stamp in it.  It is actually part of a stamp that I masked off with some medical tape.  It looked like this:

Then I inked up the entire stamp using Memento Black Ink.

Then all you do is peel off the tape.  This way only the words I wanted to use have ink on them to stamp.

You could do the same thing with Stampin’ Write Markers but if you don’t have a Marker in a certain color you can still partially ink up a stamp with this method.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made with these bright and cheery colors.

More Sneak Peeks

Here are a few more cards we made at the Stampin’ Up! Onstage Local in Toronto earlier this month.  All of these products will be found in the 2017 Annual Catalog that comes out June 1st.

This first card is made using the Birthday Memories suite.  This suite includes the stamp set called Birthday Delivery.  The Framelits are called Birthday Friends and the matching Designer Series Paper is called Birthday Memories.  There are also ribbons and embellishments included in this suite. The amazing thing about this suite is, not only do the Framelits cut out the stamps they also cut out the figures in the Designer Series Paper!  The fox and the banner he is carrying is actually from the paper and is not a stamp.  This is going to be so popular.  You are going to love it!

This next card uses products from the Delightful Daisy Suite.  This suite has a stamp set, a Punch, Designer Series Paper, ribbon and Faceted Gems.  The Gems comes in Clear and Gold and have a great sparkle to them.  The stamp set is called Daisy Delight.  The Punch is called Daisy Punch.

This last, but not least, card uses the Color Theory Suite.  The stamp set is called Colorful Seasons.  It has the cutest beach chair, leaves, flowers, snowflakes and a bunch of sentiments.  The matching Thinlits are called Seasonal Layers.  That set includes an Adirondack chair that is just adorable.  There is fun Designer Series Paper, ribbons and Glitter Enamel Dots.  This is my favorite suite we got to see at the event and from what I  heard around our table, was the favorite of everyone else.

You will be able to start ordering these products on June 1st.  You are going to love this catalog.  There is something for everyone.

Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up is a stamp set that is in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  Thankfully, it is going to be carried over into the 2017 Annual Catalog.  I am really happy about this.  It has a set of matching Thinlits called Up & Away.  If you purchase it prior to May 31st you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Although, this deal will end on June 1st, you will still be able to purchase the stamp set and Thinlits separately.

The sentiment on this card is from the Birthday Bright stamp set.  Sadly, this set will be retiring and not be in the new Annual Catalog.  This set has been so popular with my customers.  I think just about everyone of them has purchased it.  It has some great big and bold stamps, as well as a few other designs.  Everyone really needs to own this set.  You will use it for years to come.

Sneak Peeks

As you know, I went to a Stampin’ Up! Onstage Local event in April.  If you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator you can attend these events.  They are so much fun but the best part was we got a copy of the 2017 Annual Catalog and we got to play with some of the new products.

There is always a Make ‘N Take at these events.  This year we got to play with four different suites from the catalog.  I thought I would share a couple with you today and the rest later on this week.

This first set of cards is from the suite called Wood Textures.  It includes an awesome set of Framelits called Wood Crate, a stamp set called Wood Words, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and 1/4″ Copper Trim (yes, I said Copper ribbon!!). You will be able to buy the stamp set and dies Bundle and save 10%.

This is such a cute set and everyone loved the crate you can make with it.  It is hard to see in the picture but the Copper Ribbon has a sheen to it.  It is beautiful!  You will be able to order items from this suite beginning June 1st.

Blooms & Wishes

This is another card I made for my sister to use as invitations to her son’s rehearsal dinner.  A couple of weeks ago I told you how she decided to do something different with her invitations.  She wanted to send each person a different card with the invite inside of it.

I made this card using the stamp set called Blooms & Wishes.  I am so excited that this is one of the stamp sets that is going to be carried over into the new Annual Catalog.  The colors I used are Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride,  Wisteria Wonder and Emerald Envy.

To cut out the sentiment I used Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layered Ovals Framelits Die.  They layered together nicely.

A Take It Or Leave It Stamp Off Challenge

Yay!  It is Friday and time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie and Buffy.  Oh wait.  This is a Take It or Leave It Challenge.  Hmmmm.  Well, you will see why I say this.  Here is the challenge.

Twine or Ribbon?  I can do that.  Framelit or Thinlit?  I can do that too.  Food?  Huh?  Doilies?  I can even do that!  Food?  Hmmmm .  So I began to look through my stamp sets to see what had food.  Fiesta Birthday has a llama.  Can you eat that?  No.  I would not.  Pop of Paradise has a flamingo.  No way.  Baby Bear?  I don’t think so!  Sitting There has a cat.  Naw.  I don’t live in one of those countries that eat cats.  So here is the best I could do.

Fish!  I can use the fish in Seaside Shore.  So here is my card.  Please notice I used every element on the list.  Oh and by the way, Seaside Shore is being carried over into the new Annual Catalog!  I am happy about that!

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie eat.  Let’s hope it is not a dog!

Saying Goodbye To Mixed Borders

Mixed Borders is a stamp set that will be retiring at the end of May.  It is such a cute set and I am sorry to see it go.  It is a two step stamp set where you use two stamps to make one image. In this case, the border is the two set stamp.  The flowers are in Watermelon Wonder (a retiring In Color *sad*) and the leaves are in Emerald Envy.  They are really easy to line because the stamps are Photopolymer so you can see through them.

The “Hello” was cut out using the Large Letters Framelits.  This set of Framelits is something everyone should own.  You can use it to make cards, banners and scrapbook pages. Honestly, although they are a little pricey, they are worth it.  You will have them forever and never need another set of letters.  You could have a qualifying workshop and get them for half price.  You could always join Stampin’ Up! with me and get these letters as part of your Starter Package or you can use your Demonstrator discount to purchase them.

Mixed Borders will be available until May 22nd.  After that once it is gone, it is gone for good.
