Today is the last day of so many things in the Stampin’ Up! world. First of all, it is the last day of the 2107 Occasions Catalog. This catalog was awesome and had so many great things in it. Although, a lot of it has sold out, there are still a lot available to purchase. Make sure you place an order today for those items that will not be carried over into the Annual Catalog.
Today is also the last day you can get that awesome Eastern Palace Suite Bundle. All the items will still be available tomorrow but you won’t get the free items after today. Remember, if you order the Premier Bundle you will get the Heavy Vanilla Cardstock and Medium Vanilla Envelopes for free and if you order the Starter Bundle you will get the Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes for free!
Don’t forget to come back to my blog tomorrow for a special I am having between June 1st – June 7th! You will get FREE SHIPPING for any orders over $50! Check out the details tomorrow!
I think Cool Treats is my favorite stamp set in the 2017 Occasions Catalog. Maybe because the weather is getting warmer and summertime is almost here. It is such a fun summer set and it has matching Framelits called Frozen Treats. The good news is that this set is being carried over into the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog. The bad news is you only have two more days to save 10% by purchasing the stamp set and Framelits in a Bundle.
I used one of the new In Colors that will be in the new Annual Catalog and one of the old In Colors to make this card. I am really liking the Lemon Lime Twist color. It is bright and fun and who doesn’t love a lemon lime popsicle? The other In Color I used is Flirty Flamingo. Then I added a little Pool Party because my favorite popsicle are the blue raspberry favored.
Two more days until the new Annual Catalog goes live. I don’t now about you, but I can’t wait! Don’t forget to check back here on June 1st to see a special I am having to celebrate the new catalog!
I decided I need to go out of my comfort zone every once in a while. Sometimes I get in a rut so it was fun to try something different. This is not a new technique by any means but it is kind of new to me.
To make this card I lightly spritzed some water on Shimmery White Cardstock. Then I stamped the flowers from the stamp set called Wild About Flowers a couple of times in Berry Burst (a new InColor coming soon). The color did run a little more than I had planned but I through it still looked ok (remember I am getting out of my comfort zone of crisp images). Then I waited a little bit until the cardstock was almost dry before stamping the flowers a third time. They didn’t run as much as the first two. After that I stamped the fern from Butterfly Basics in Old Olive, more flowers in another new InColor coming soon called Powder Pink. Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink when the card was completely dry. I probably should have used a bolder sentiment but it was too late.
Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is to make a card using the Ombre technique.
As you know the Stampin’ Up! 2017/2018 Annual Catalog starts on June 1st. As a Demonstrator we were able to purchase a select variety of items from that catalog. One of the items was ombre Designer Series Paper called Color Theory. I decided that there was a good chance that Buffy and Jackie would use that Designer Series Paper so I decided to do something different.
I used the stamp set called Birthday Banners to make this card. I know it is not exactly ombre but I thought it was close enough. I stamped the candles using Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and So Saffron. Birthday Banners is a great set because it goes with so many other products. It matches the Balloon Bouquet Punch and the Bunch Of Banners Framelits Dies.
Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made. Do you think they used the new Designer Series Paper? Wouldn’t it be funny if we all thought the same thing and no one used it at all? No worries though. You will see it soon enough!
This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting this month. It uses the stamp set called Weather Together. This stamp set has a matching set of Framelits called Umbrella Weather. If you order them before the end of May you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. Beginning June 1st, the Bundle price goes away. The good news is that the stamps and Framelits will be in the new catalog (just not at the Bundle price).
Don’t forget the 2017 Occasions Catalog also ends on May 31st. Although there are a lot of products in there that are carrying over, there are also a lot that are not. Some of the retiring merchandise is already sold out. You can click on my link to the right of this post to see what is retiring. If you want something from that list you better order it soon or it will be gone forever!
You probably have noticed by now that I really like the Lemon Lime Twist In Color with Flirty Flamingo. I think I have made 4 or 5 cards using this color combination. It just such a bright and happy combination. It is perfect for summertime. Of course, here, summer hasn’t started yet and probably won’t until July! Let’s hope it is not one of those summers.
I used the set of Thinlits called Swirly Scribbles to make the flowers and leaves. The sentiment is from the stamp set called All Things Thanks. It is a great set for making thank you cards because it has nine different stamps that say thank you in all different ways and sizes. By the way, in case you noticed, yes, I have been making a lot of thank you cards lately. I went to send one a couple of weeks ago and I had nothing made! I have about 30 birthday cards ready but not a single thank you. Sad.
Today, I decided to get out my No Bones About It stamp set. I bought this set a long time ago and have never used it. Sometimes I like to buy sets that I will be able to use in the future with my grandchildren. I saved a really old train set for this purpose that retired a long time ago but had a wheel with the train tracks. I am sure girls love dinosaurs too but I never met a boy who didn’t.
I stamped the solid dinosaurs in lighter colors and stamped off before stamping them on Whisper White. This made them a little lighter. Then I stamped the bones in a darker color. I used Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron, Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party and Powder Pink for the solid images. I used Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Perfect Plum and Rose Red for the bones.
