I decided I need to go out of my comfort zone every once in a while. Sometimes I get in a rut so it was fun to try something different. This is not a new technique by any means but it is kind of new to me.
To make this card I lightly spritzed some water on Shimmery White Cardstock. Then I stamped the flowers from the stamp set called Wild About Flowers a couple of times in Berry Burst (a new InColor coming soon). The color did run a little more than I had planned but I through it still looked ok (remember I am getting out of my comfort zone of crisp images). Then I waited a little bit until the cardstock was almost dry before stamping the flowers a third time. They didn’t run as much as the first two. After that I stamped the fern from Butterfly Basics in Old Olive, more flowers in another new InColor coming soon called Powder Pink. Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink when the card was completely dry. I probably should have used a bolder sentiment but it was too late.
I think I’ll stick with my crisp images!

Susan, you didn’t just step out of the box; you kicked your way out and destroyed the box. This is absolutely gorgeous!!! You did an amazing job. It looks like someone painted it with watercolors. Awesome!

This technique is beautiful, Susan! You should ‘step outside’ more often 😉 Question – did you stamp again on top of the watercolour effect a total of 3 times, then? (directly on top of the 1st and 2nd generation?) Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Deborah. Yes, I did stamp it three times.

I think you have to practice this kind of technique a lot to be able to predict just how much the ink will bleed. That said, this card is absolutely lovely!

I agree, Linda. I think it bled too much the first stamping
