Daisy Delight

It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy and Jackie.  This time our challenge is to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) in our project.  We do this because, we are all hoarders and need to start using our DSP!

Here is my card:

I used the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  This set has a matching Punch called Daisy and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  I also used the new 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon in Pool Party.  This ribbon is so beautiful.  It is hard to tell from the picture but it has a slight shimmer to it.  Gorgeous!  Lastly, I used the Designer Series Paper called Delightful Daisy.  This paper has beautiful, soft colors such as Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made with their hoarded Designer Series Paper.

In The City Again

I just love this new Hostess stamp set that is in the 2017/2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  I think it has to be my most favorite Hostess Set ever.  There are 60 stamps in the set.  Yes, I said 60!  That is an amazing number of stamps in one set.  The only problem is you can only get it with a qualifying personal, workshop or group order.  You don’t even have to have a workshop or party if you don’t want to.  You can just get a group of friends and place an order together.  I could set up a group order for you and give each of you a Hostess Code.  It is very easy to do.

This set is a two (and sometimes three) step stamp set.  You stamp the outside of the houses with one stamp and the insides with another.  That way you don’t have to use markers to color each stamp set the different colors.  They are really easy to line up because they are Photopolymer which means they are clear.

If you are interested is finding out more about a group order or if you want to get a bunch of friends together to stamp, just shoot me an email.  I can explain how it works.

A Cool Treats Birthday

I actually got the idea for this card at our local ice cream shop.  It is called Lickety Split which I think is a great name for this business.  A young girl was eating a soft ice cream cone that looked like this.  I think it was raspberry flavored.

I used a stamp set that was in the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Occasions Catalog and luckily carried over into the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  It is called Cool Treats.  This set has 36 stamps in it!  That is an amazing amount of stamps!  The matching Framelits are called Frozen Treats.  This is set is perfect for summer time, which is the only time Lickety Split is open!  That is probably a good thing because I love going there!

I do have to apologize because I used the Bermuda Bay sequins and apparently they retired this year.  By the time I realized it, they were already glued onto the card and I didn’t want to take them off.  Sorry about that!

Stamping Craziness & True Friends

As some of you might know, Rob and I had been looking for a cottage on Lake Ontario for a while.  Cottages are really hard to find in this area.  They either stay in families forever or are sold to people the owner’s already know.  We lucked into finding a beautiful place and moved here for the summer last week.  I had to make quite a few trips with all my Stampin’ Up! products (as you can imagine).  Then I had to figure out how I was going to store everything and lastly, where I was going to stamp.  It is a process for sure!

The first card I made at the cottage is the one you will see on Friday for our Stamp Off Challenge.  First, it took me about a half hour just to find everything.  Then I couldn’t decide what products I should use for the card.  The whole process took a couple of hours and my table looked like this!

I probably should have taken the salt & pepper shakers off the table and perhaps the candles too, but you get the idea.  Luckily, my stampin’ buddy still likes stamping with me at the cottage.

She couldn’t quite figure out how to get under the table but apparently this was good enough for now.  Usually she sleeps at my feet.  It might have something to do with the rubs she gets!

Celebration Time

Deborah is a friend of mine and very talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from Canada.  She is on a design team called Paper Craft Crew and they do challenges every week.  I haven’t participated in a challenge in a very long time so I decided to try this challenge.

I ordered a lot of new products from the Annual Catalog so I decided to use some of them for the card.

The stamp set I used is called Celebration Time.  It has matching Thinlits called Celebration that are so cute.  They cut out some of the images from the stamp set but they also cut a bunch of other images such as tags and a cute party hat.

I also decided to use the new Embossing Paste and Pattern Party Decorative Masks for the background of this card.  It was so easy to use!  I held down one of the Masks with Washi Tape.  Then I used one of the Palette Knives to spread the paste over the Mask.  It dries really quickly so you can start decorating your card fairly soon.  One of the nice things about the Embossing Paste is you can use it as is, which is white, or you can add some ink to it to make it whatever color you prefer.  I actually used it as is but it looks like Pool Party because I put it on Bermuda Bay cardstock.

A Glossy Cardstock Stamp Off Challenge

Friday is my favorite day of the week.  It is the day that Jackie, Buffy and I get to share our Stamp Off Challenges.  This week our challenge is to use the new Stampin’ up! Glossy White Cardstock.

Stampin’ Up! used to sell Glossy White Cardstock and this year they decided to bring it back.  I never purchased it the first time around and honestly, I wasn’t going to purchase it this time around either until I saw the challenge for this week.  Opps.  I had to order some and I am so glad I did.  Well, I was glad I did after I saw Buffy’s and Jackie’s creations last week.  They used Glossy White Cardstock.  I also did some research on what to do with it!  I found out you can use this paper to make beautiful backgrounds using our Ink Refills.

I decided to make my background using Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party.  You can’t really see the Pool Party in this but it is there. The Bermuda Bay Ink and the Lemon Lime mixture made a color close to Emerald Envy.   I put a bunch of ink drops onto aluminum foil and then squished the Glossy Cardstock on top of it while twisting it until the paper was entirely covered with ink.  Then I decided to blot some of it off.  I used paper towel and realized that my paper towel left little dots all over it.  I didn’t intend for that to happen but decided I liked the look of that.  Here is what it looks like up close:

I used three other new products from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  The stamp set is called Oh So Eclectic.  It has a set of matching dies called Eclectic Layers and you can save 10% by purchasing them both in a Bundle.  I actually got the stamp set for free at the April OnStage event.   I love the die that cuts out the diamond pattern so I wanted to purchase the dies.

The sentiment comes from the new stamp set called Tabs For Everything (I just realized I got this one for free too!).  This stamp set has a matching punch called Circle Tab (you can save 10% by purchasing both of these in a Bundle too!).  This set is going to be super popular.  A few years ago Stampin’ Up! had a Tab Punch that now sells online for a ton of money if you can even find it.  This new punch will do the same thing.  It is awesome!

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using the new Glossy Cardstock.
