Today is the last day to take advantage of the Stampin’ Up! July Specials. The first special is called Bonus Days. I have been talking about it all month so you should know what it is but just in case you were in the jungles of Brazil or on an iceberg in Antartica, I’ll explain it. When you spend $50 during the month of July you will earn a $5 coupon to spend on any order in August. There is no limit on how many coupons you earn so if you spend $100 you will get two coupons. Spend $150 you will get three coupons PLUS $15 in hostess benefits. That is like getting $30 in free merchandise!
Another special Stampin’ Up! is having during the month of July only is the amazing Christmas in July deal. If you sign up to become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for $99 (pus tax) you will get to choose $125 worth of merchandise plus get a FREE Essentials Kit (which includes Paper Snips, Bone Folder, Grid Paper, Snail Adhesive and 2 D Blocks!) AND a stamp set called Carols Of Christmas! That is almost $200 worth of products for $99! To join, just click on the Join Now Button to the right of my blog.
Today is the last day so don’t miss these amazing deals!
It’s Friday and time for another Stamp Off Challenge. This time we needed to make a masculine card.
These are always the hardest because men would probably rather have a funny card. You know. Many men would rather have one that has a monkey on it with some crazy (but funny) saying. The first card Rob ever gave me had a picture of King Kong on it. The inside said “Razzmatazz. Rooty toot toot. I want to see you in your birthday suit”! I do have to say that my boys seem to like my cards (at least they say they do) but I know they would probably rather have a funny one too.
I think the trick to making a good masculine card is to keep it simple. This is exactly what I did for my card.
I used a new stamp set called Sorry For Everything. You know how I love big sentiments and the word “Sorry” is super big. Then the set has 9 other stamps that go with sorry such as “for your loss”, “I missed your birthday” and “for the loss of your furry friend”. In this case I chose the simple one “I’m so very”. That covers everything!
The Designer Series Paper I used is called Pick A Pattern. It has these crazy funky designs on one side and great patterns on the other.
Let’s all go see what amazing creations Buffy and Jackie made!
Have you tried the new Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders that are in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog? If you, you really must! These folders are amazing. The emboss the cardstock making a much deeper impression that a normal Embossing Folder. They are thicker than a regular Embossing Folder too so there is a different method to running them through your Big Shot. Watch this video** to see how to get the best impressions using these awesome folders. **Note: Normally I post the video on my website but the links are incorrect so you will need to watch it by clicking on “this video” above.
There are five different Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.
Layered Leaves (#143704)
Pinewood Planks (#143708)
Cable Knit (#143537)
If you haven’t tried these folders yet, you really should! Just click on one of the links below. Don’t forget to watch the video!
Bike Ride is one of the cutest sets in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. The fun thing about this set is all the pieces of the bike are separate so you can easily use different colors to make it. The tires are separate from the rims so it was easy to stamp the tires in Memento Tuxedo Black and the rims in Bermuda Bay. The same goes for all the pieces. This is because this is a two step stamp set which mean many of the images are made using two stamps instead of one. This stamp set also has matching Framelits so it is easy to cut everything out. You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle too! Plus, the images you can put on the back or front of the bicycle are adorable. There is a dog, apples, flowers and books. Each of them are two step stamps. Another interesting thing about this set is the pebbles on the road is a die that embosses instead of cuts.
The sentiment is from a stamp set called Colorful Seasons.
Don’t forget Bonus Days are almost over. For every $50 you spend you get a $5 coupon to use in August. There is no limit to how many coupons you can earn.
Also July is the perfect month to join the Stampin’ Up! family. You can still pick out $125 worth of products of your choice for $99 (plus tax but free shipping!) AND you get a Christmas stamp set called Carols of Christmas for FREE AND you get the Essentials Pack which includes Paper Snips, Grid Paper, Two D Blocks, a Snail Adhesive and a Bone Folder all for FREE! This offer ends on July 31st so don’t miss out. Remember, there is no obligation to join. You don’t have to buy a single thing after you receive your Starter Kit but I know you are going to want to because of the awesome discount all Demonstrators get!
Have you ever been to a hot air balloon festival or had a ride in one? I have not but I have seen them from a distance. All the balloons in the air look amazing and beautiful. Each one is different and they are all so colorful. Personally, I would probably be scared to death to ride in one. I am not really fond of heights although I don’t have Acrophobia (fear of heights).
The stamp set I used in this card is called Lift Me Up. It was in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and was carried over into the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It has a set of matching Thinlit called Up & Away which make it so easy to cut out the balloons.
I used our new Embossing Paste and Pattern Party Decorative Masks to make the clouds. I purposely didn’t try to smooth out the clouds because I wanted them to look a little fluffy. Stampin’ Up! Embossing past is amazing. It is really easy to work with and dries fairly quickly so you don’t have to wait all day to continue making your project. Stampin’ Up! even sells a set of three Palette Knives to help you spread the Embossing Paste evenly.
Everyone knows my favorite place in the whole world is to be on the water. It can be at the ocean or on the lake. I happen to live on Lake Ontario which makes summer my favorite time of the year. I am definitely not into ice fishing or even ice skating because I am a warm weather kind of person. Why do I live in Northern New York? It is Rob’s fault!
Colorful Seasons is a perfect set for year round use but my favorite stamps are the summer ones. I just love the chair that is in the stamp set as well as the adorable chair that is in the matching Framelits called Seasonal Layers.
I used the Stamping Sponges to make the background. It is so easy to do. You just tap the sponge into an Ink Pad and rub it across the cardstock. I cut my sponges into eighths so I can have one for each color. That way you don’t mix up the ink. It is quick and easy and makes a nice, soft background to go with that relaxing beach chair. I used Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Pool Party inks.
Today’s Stamp Off Challenge by Buffy, Jackie and me is a sketch challenge. These are my favorite challenges because, frankly, I find them the easiest. All you have to do is look at the sketch and then pick out some products that would go with it. Here is the sketch.
I decided to use Beautiful Bouquet to make a card using this sketch.
This is such a fun set. It has matching Framelits called Bouquet Bunch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. There are 37 stamps in this set and 21 dies! That is an amazing amount. There are 15 sentiments included and some of them are for the inside of a card.
The Designer Series Paper is called Delightful Daisy. The thing I love the most about Stampin’ Up’s Designer Series Paper is it is two sided so if you don’t like one side you can use the other. The only problem I run into is most of the time I like both sides and can’t make up my mind which to use!
Now let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made using this card sketch. I am sure we will love both of them!
Don’t forget there is a little more than a week left for Bonus Days and The Christmas in July Starter Kit Offer. Hurry before these great events are gone!
