This card uses three new products from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. First, let’s talk about the background. Do you remember the Shaving Cream Technique? I loved it but it made such a mess! You had to put shaving cream on a plate or container, add drops of ink to it and swirl it around with a knife or something similar. Then you had to dip your card into it, wipe off the shaving cream and you ended up with a swirly background.
Well, Stampin’ Up! now has a background stamp called Marbled where all you need to do is add ink and stamp to get the same swirly background. It makes things so much easier! You can still add different colors by using ink pads or markers. In this case, I just used a Lemon Lime Twist ink pad.
The other new products are a stamp set called Lemon Zest. This set has a matching punch called Lemon Builder and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. I have always had a thing for fruit so I loved this Bundle the second I saw it. It also has cute sayings that go with the Lemon or Lime idea (you can just stamp it in Lemon Lime Twist to make it a lime instead of a lemon).
One of the best things about being a Stampin’ UP! Demonstrator is you get to see and order products before anyone else. I am not a patient person so I love being able to get my hands on things early. During the month of July Demonstrators are able to purchase a stamp set from the upcoming Holiday Catalog called Carols of Christmas. Of course, this set has matching Thinlits called Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies. Customers will be able to purchase this set in August and if you join as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator during the month of July, you get this stamp set for FREE!!
Here are some cards Stampin’ Up! made using this set.
If you are considering joining as a Demonstrator, July is the best month to do it. Not only do you get this stamp set for FREE, you also get an Essentials Kit at no charge. This kit includes Paper Snips, Grid Paper, 2 D Clear Blocks, a Bone Folder and a Snail Adhesive. This is everything you need to get started. Remember, there is no obligation once you purchase your Starter Kit to buy another thing but you are probably going to want to once you realize the great discount you get on all Stampin’ Up! products. If you are interested and want more information send me an email or click on the Join Now button on the right side of my blog.
Oh So Eclectic is another new stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It is a two step stamp set which means you use two stamps to make one image. When I first looked at this set it didn’t really catch my eye. I actually won this set at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in April. Then I saw the matching dies called Eclectic Layers Thinlits and I knew I wanted themt. The dies are awesome (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle).
The Thinlits cut out all the flowers and leaves in the set but they also do so much more. There is the large die which cuts out the diamond design on my card. There is also a leaf die that just embossed and doesn’t cut through the cardstock.
Here is a Stampin’ Up! video that shows how they work
The colors I used for this card are Whisper White, Pool Party, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.

Everywhere I look people have these beautiful Geraniums in their yards. They hang from porches and are planted in big pots all over the place. I love Geraniums but unfortunately I am a plant killer. Either I over water them or forget to water them at all so they just shrivel up and die. It is sad and pathetic.
Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have a Geranium stamp so I thought I would make my own. I used a couple of flowers from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set that is in the Annual Catalog. It is a two set stamp set which means you use two stamps to make one image. I used Berry Burst and Powder Pink to make the flowers. Then I used an Aqua Painter to soften them.
The border is a new punch in the catalog. It is called Decorative Ribbon Border.
Here is a picture of Emory Jade on her first 4th of July. She has these beautiful big brown eyes. She is also growing up way too fast!
Hello everyone. It is time again for another Stamp Off Challenge. This time we have a color challenge. Here are the colors (which by the way are one of my favorite combinations):
I think this combination of colors is so bright and cheery. Here is my card:
I used the stamp set called Colorful Seasons. This is a great all around stamp set because it represents all the seasons. There are snowflakes for winter, leaves for fall, flower for spring and a beach chair for summer. It also has a set of matching Thinlits called Seasonal Layers. It cuts out all the different snowflakes, leaves and flowers but my favorite part of this Bundle is the Adirondack Chair die. It is just adorable (as you can see).
For the background I used one of the new Dynamic Folders. These folders are amazing because they emboss a deeper, bolder pattern into the cardstock. This one is called Ruffled. It is supposed to look like ribbon but I thought it also looked liked waves.
Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made using these colors. I know Jackie was not the fondest of this combination but I know she will make something awesome using them.
This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting last week. I do need to say that my stamp ladies are the best! They are such fun to get together with and we all get along really well. It is such a great group! I love them all!
We used the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet to make this card. This stamp set has matching Framelits called Bouquet Bunch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle. I know I say that a lot but Stampin’ Up! really has a ton of stamp sets that do have matching dies and they always offer 10% off if you buy them together in a Bundle the first year they appear. I probably own all of them!
The banner and sentiment are from the stamp set called Birthday Banners and the Framelits are called Bunch of Banners.
The other day I was trying to make a card and it just wasn’t coming as planned. I stamped this and stamped that. I cut this and I cut that and nothing seemed to come out as I imagined. This happens sometimes. Well, this happens to me a lot. I get an idea in my head and I just can’t put it on cardstock. The good thing is that I usually keep all the pieces I have stamped and cut to see if I can use them another time. The bad thing is I have a ton of cut images!
A couple of days later, I tried again. I saw these cute little flowers I had cut out using the Bouquet Bunch Framelits. I thought I could make a wreath out of them so I started to look at my stamp sets that had a wreath included. The first set I came across was At Home With You. Of course it was first because I file my stamps alphabetically!
At Home With You is a new stamp set that it in the Annual Catalog. It has matching Framelits called At Home (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle). This set is so cute because there is a door stamp that you can cut the outline out plus it has another die where you can cut the door out on three sides so the door actually opens! How cute is that?!? I didn’t actually do that on this card but I could have.
This card uses the colors of my house and front door (Crumb Cake and Tranquil Tide). The wood background is an new Dynamic Embossing Folder called Pinewood Planks. Dynamic Embossing Folders are thicker and emboss a deeper image into the cardstock.
